great product
I used this product both underwater and while jet skiing. Very sturdy, no leaks and no worries regarding accidentily jarring it open. A little bulky but worth the investment. 2008-09-17

WP-DC17 Underwater Housing
I purchased this with the intention of using the camera underwater, of course. That won't be until later on into next year. However, I have used it for other uses, such as taking pictures along the beach during a windy day and getting knee deep into the ocean waves. That's the closest its been to water in a mass quantity. The pictures came out very well and I'm very pleased with my purchase. I'll write more to this review whenever it is I use this underwater. 2008-09-10

Works as expected
I was able to use the case twice while snorkeling. It worked well both times and case allowed access to all features that I needed from the camera. There were no leaks at all but I did noticed that sand got into the hinges. The sand does not affect the waterproofing at all (just annoying) but I can't wash it out. I found that pictures taken w/o the diffuser resulted in a dark corner when I tested the case on dry land...so, I kept the diffuser on at all times when using it underwater. I haven't had a chance to looked through the hundreds of pics but what I saw so far was impressive. The case worked well with the camera and I'm impressed with the pictures so far. Looking forward to next time I get to use the camera & case again. 2008-09-08

excellent overall housing!
My wife and I used this housing with our canon sd870is on our Honeymoon in French Polynesia - Tahiti, Moorea, and Bora-bora. Our underwater pictures and videos are clear and crisp! We took it to a dept of 50ft during our diving tour, no problems whatsoever (housing can handle depths of up to 130ft). The housing can take some abuse too during our wild jet-ski tour. There were many times that we decided to just keep the camera inside the housing because it protects the camera from dust, sand, scratches, bumps/rattles, etc. The camera can still capture great pictures on dry land. 2008-08-23

Works great!
It works as described. Obviously a sensitive equipment, so you must treat it with care and not let sand or hair or other dust get into the seal. 2008-08-19
