Cheaply made and unreliable
This is the worst printer I've ever owned.
It came with an IMac I bought in November, but I did most of my printing/scanning/copying on the printer connected to my PC, so it got very little use. The print quality deteriorated rapidly, and I needed to replace the ink cartridges after printing fewer than 50 pages. I installed the new ink cartridges but the paper feed then failed to operate. I couldn't even get a test page - the error message said there was a paper jam, although there was no jam and the paper path was clear (see experience of ChillsnThrills and Frank Adams)

The warranty is only 90 days and my nearly new printer was out of warranty when I experienced these problems; beyond the 90 days Canon will not give telephone support without a $10 charge. Their electronic support was not helpful, but they offered me a "one-time opportunity to purchase a new product of the same type, discounted from the list price." No thanks Canon - after my experience with this product no way am I letting you sell me another.

OK printer for home office
I have had this printer for 3 weeks. It is decent. It does; however, use up ink quickly and it does not print pictures well (though I did not buy it for this function). All in all, decent for home office use.

Canon Pixma MP210
Bought this for my Mom since her lexmark all in one died on her. I just wanted something cheap, simple to use, and performed well. I was suprised that the quality was pretty good (especially for the price). AL lin all great deal if you are looking for a simple all in one that does a good job. I have had lexmark and epson as well and I am most impressed with the canon printers.

Simple and great quality
I have had this about a year now, since Spring 2007. I do not use any Canon software with it, but I can tell you that it does a great job at both scanning and printing, not to mention a copier.

While it does not have memory card slots or other features, my computer does. Besides, I wouldn't think of printing anything before retouching it in photoshop or Picasa. I print my photos at Costco, not on an inkjet, due to less cost and much higher quality. But for printing things like maps, letters, and one-off things, it cannot be beat for the price. Scanning is also good, and I even used it to scan our passports and make a PDF with them, then put that on a thumb drive and sent a copy to a family member in case it gets lost.

If you can live with using your computer for card-reading and other duties, you will not feel as though you are missing features. I certainly don't look at the printer and think of shortcomings. Ink is about average price, and lasts a bit longer than others (Epson) that I have used. Also it can take Canon 40/41 ink packs, which are larger than the stock packs included with the printer.

No USB Cable Included!
Would it pain Canon to include a USB cable so you could hook it up to your computer right away? And only one other reviewer mentioned that?? Well that's the review I didn't read. What's wrong with all of you who bought this? Does everyone have extra USB cables lying around like spare change? Thanks Amazon Prime for getting this to me in two days. Now I need to drag myself down to the store to get a new cable. Who knows how many days that will take me...
