Lomographic Holga Starter Kit

Since we are still trying to figure out just how to use the camera it is hard to give it an accurate rating. So far my son is enjoying it but the first bunch of pictures he took didn't come out that well. He needs to read a bit more on the details. He is enjoying the camera and I think it was worth the money.

This little kit is a fun beginning into a journey of lomography. It comes with a booklet of artwork from other artists who used the style of photography, and is worth the price of the whole kit by itself. The camera and accessories are all included and are everything you need to get started.

If you are a first time HOLGA photographer, prepare to be completely confused and scared. I still have no idea if my camera even works. It makes absolutely no sound when the camera clicks, and the button for taking pictures feels hard when pushed down (I'm not even sure if it actually took any pictures at all). But the manual prepares you for this experience. According to them Holga cameras can be nerve recking at first until you develop the pictures and fall INLOVE with them. I haven't had time to develop mine, so I'm still a little confused. Lightweight, fun camera. It feels like a toy. Great to take around on a long walk and experiment. Color flash is a great addition, I used different colors on my pictures, can't wait to see them. Oh, and also sometimes the flash wouldn't work when "taking picture". Like I said, COMPLICATED, takes a while to understand the mechanics. HOLGA images are amazing, I am very excited and hoping it worked out fine! Good luck!

This is a great starter-kit into the world of the Holga/Toy/Lomography. The kit has everything to get started, and the book included is some nice eye-candy to get some ideas as to what this plastic camera is capable of. It's also a lot cheaper here than in most retail stores you might find in the downtown area of your city...ie: rhymes with Gurban Routfitters..;)

So you probably know what holga's are capable of. This model is a slightly more versatile version with color flash and tripod mount. These cameras are fun for their unpredictable, yet amazing photo quality. I won't say that getting great photos is easy but is more likely to happen with a camera that has it's own personality and that is what the holga is. It comes with a book with some really good tips for taking interesting photos and showcases some really wonderful pictures as well to help inspire you. For the price on Amazon there is no reason for you to not give it a whirl.
