got used instead of new
Got an used product instead of a new one. The tripod had scratches on it and the handle was broken. Otherwise the tripod is solid and quite sturdy. Didn't expect this from Amazon.

Sunpak 9002DX Tripod review!!
I recieved the product in great condition. All pieces were in the box and the tripod worked better than expected. I seen several tripods for way more money and they were not even close in comparison. this one is by far greater in height and stability. i use it often and have NO complaints.

Good value
A lot of great features for a low price. very stable, I love the quick release catch, and lightweight. I've had trouble getting a good horizontal on the tilt head, but otherwise a deal at the price.

pretty good for what I payed for
The weight is about right. I have no problem of carrying it around whole day, with all my lens in bag as well.
The images are stable with it, though I havn't tested it with heavier lens yet (I'm still saving for the 70-200/f2.8).
I found myself use it as monopod quite frequently, especially trying to catch indoor family event. But for this product, it works pretty well.

Not Sturdy Enough
My good, but old Bogen tripod was stolen, so I purchased this one in a hurry for an upcoming shoot. The Sunpack has many nice features for the price, and it is VERY light weight. Thus I can pack it around (I bought the case too) all day without a problem. But, it is lightweight because of all the plastic connectors and such.
So despite what the specs say, it just isn't sturdy enough to hold my Nikon D80 DSLR. I should have paid more and gotten a heavier and heavier-duty tripod. I couldn't even get the plastic Quick-Release tightened satisfactorily. However, if you've got just a small lightweight camera, this tripod has great features at a great price!
