It does all it's suppose to do!
I frequently read reviews (when they are available) before purchasing larger items. So, let me help out those interested in the Canon LA-DC58H Conversion Lens and Adapter. I found it simple to install, easy to use and a lot of fun to use. Reviews written about how difficult it was to install obviously never looked at the camera's manuel. In less than a minute I had the Adapter attached, the Lens mounted and the necessary setting to the camera made -- oh, and I was taking photo's immediately.

Before you buy this for Canon A650:
Wish I had read all reviews before purchase. This does NOT work with the A650. See previous review about 'the white dot'. I just spent $113 to have this removed from my camera - they had to completely take the camera apart. 2008-09-15

Made of plastic
Dang it. I read a well written review of the Canon G9 (and the need to get a lensmate):

I went to amazon and ordered this 'lensmate' thinking it would be anodized aluminum. (This plastic version should cost [...] cents, not $[...].) Anyhow, I found the metal one here:

I think I'll try returning this thing... never tried to return anything through amazon before. I also ordered some UV and polarizing filters -- I hope they are glass and not plastic. :)

Does the job
After reading all the reviews before buying, I bought anyway. So far so good but is very fragile. Filters fit perfectly and fits on camera as promised. 2008-09-07

Be sure it is firmly attached
Be sure that you can't remove the installed lens holder before installing the heavy telephoto converter lens. This adapter does not lock firmly in place with a resounding, reassuring click. You put it on, note that the release button is still depressed, work it around until the release is in the popped out locked position, double check that the adapter is locked firmly and only then entrust the heavy lens to it. Lens itself seems top quality. 2008-09-04
